JOB TITLE: RESIDENTIAL SERVICE TECHNICIAN
JOB PURPOSE: The Residential Service Technician is the installation technician for both residential garage doors, garage door openers, and keyless entry systems. Most residential service work is done on existing garage doors, and opener systems.
Work assignments are received from the Residential Service Manager. Residential Service Technician have specific responsibilities in the areas of record keeping for customer billing, time cards for compensation, maintaining company vehicles and equipment, ongoing product and safety education and training, housekeeping at the warehouse, shop, and job-sites, as well as other miscellaneous duties as required by the Service Manager.
Residential Service Technicians are the first line of support for customers and are expected to maintain a neat and clean appearance and to treat all customers with decency and respect at all times, regardless of the customer’s mood or disposition.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Installs, services and repairs residential garage doors, operating systems, and gate opening systems.
- Experience working directly with customers and exude exceptional customer service.
- Able to work independently and dependably without supervision while upholding company’s policies, ethics and values.
- Reviews Work Order information for accuracy and completeness before departing for job.
- Ensuring truck is fueled, serviced, and ready for operation prior to beginning of work day.
- Ensures truck is restocked with appropriate materials, parts, and tools daily.
- Reads instruction manuals for all products installed in a service environment before attempting to install.
- Knowledgeable in the basic functions of a garage door, garage door operator and gate operating systems, i.e. track alignment, track adjustment, horizontal leveling with slight raise, adequate back hangs, operator arm and photo eye setting. Technician must be able to check all set screws, rollers, cables, balance, horizontal and vertical track settings, balance of garage door, and ensures proper door installation and clearances.
- Properly installs door and associated system components as indicated on work order.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Experience with Garage Doors and/or Garage Door Openers.
- Must have good mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to understand and work with common power tools and hand tools.
- Must be able to safely lift objects up to and including 50lbs.
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, climb and work off of a ladder
- Hands on maintenance and mechanical skills.
- Must have neat appearance and grooming.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
Commercial Service Tech – Lead Man
JOB TITLE: COMMERCIAL SERVICE TECHNICIAN – LEAD MAN
JOB PURPOSE:The Commercial Service Technician is the primary service provider for commercial and industrial doors, door opening systems, gate opening systems, and dock leveling systems. Most commercial service work is done on existing garage doors, opener systems, dock-leveling systems, or previously installed gate opening systems.
Work assignments are received from the Commercial Service Manager. It is the responsibility of the Lead Man to plan, coordinate, and ensure completion of the primary service task, as defined by the Service Manager.
Commercial Service Technician have specific responsibilities in the areas of record keeping for customer billing, time cards for compensation, maintaining company vehicles and equipment, ongoing product and safety education and training, housekeeping at the warehouse, shop, and job-sites, as well as other miscellaneous duties as required by the Service Manager.
Because of the nature of door systems in a commercial/industrial environment, these systems play a critical role in both business continuity for the customer, as well as revenue generation. Accordingly, problems with these types of systems may require immediate and prioritized attention to repair and/or replacement by the Commercial Service Technician.

- Able to safely operate a motorized fork lift, hydraulic lift (up to 40’ in height).
- Previous welding and cutting torch experience is preferred.

Warehouse: Facilities Support
JOB TITLE: WAREHOUSE / FACILITIES SUPPORT
JOB PURPOSE: The Warehouse / Facilities Support play a key role in helping the business to maintain its efficiency and work flow by keeping the warehouse neat and tidy, assisting techs with setting out their materials and keeping the company grounds and warehouse clean and well maintained.
The Warehouse / Facilities Support reports directly to the owner and the CPOD Management team, who will manage and review his/her key daily tasks.
The ideal Warehouse / Facilities Support will be a team player, well organized, detail oriented, mechanically inclined and have strong communication skills. KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares each job, readying them for the assigned technician every morning by gathering the materials for the technicians’ daily jobs and assists in the loading of their trucks.
- Experience working directly with customers and exude exceptional customer service.
- Deducts and manages the inventory of all materials and parts leaving the warehouse.
- Maintains the company’s inventory on all materials and parts and ensures that everything that leaves the warehouse is tallied and accurately reported on inventory sheets – always accompanies technicians and staff into the inventory supply house.
- Maintains an inventory of technician trucks and company vehicles.
- Reports inventory status during weekly team meeting.
- Reports to Office Manager / Bookkeeper weekly to reconcile current inventory against purchase orders.
- Monitors and tracks construction of all custom door builds while maintaining the cleanliness of the workshop and warehouse.
- Assists in unloading weekly deliveries of doors, parts and supplies and stores each item in the appropriate space.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with Garage Doors and/or Garage Door Openers — OR —- In home building, installation, or repair, including Handyman, Construction or Remodeling.
- Must have good mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to understand and work with common power tools and hand tools.
- Must be able to safely lift objects up to and including 50lbs.
