CPOD Enhances Safety with ‘Don’t Chance It, Check It’

‘DON’T CHANCE IT. CHECK IT’ CAMPAIGN MEANS A SAFER OVERHEAD GARAGE DOOR FOR YOUR HOME

The most important door in your house is not your front door – but your garage door – according to 70% of Americans.* Why not make sure it is the safest door in the house?
Cedar Park Overhead Doors (CPOD) is proud to help you do just that. As part of the Liftmaster ‘Don’t Chance it. Check it.’ campaign, CPOD will check its customers’ overhead doors for safety on all its routine service calls.

“Our trained technicians will check our customers’ doors for safety as part of all routine services calls,” says Don Grenier, owner of the family-owned and operated Cedar Park Overhead Doors.

“Our first priority is the safety and well-being of our customers,” says Don. “The Liftmaster ‘Don’t Chance it. Check it.’ campaign will help to ensure that your garage door is operating safely for you, your children and your pets.

“Even if you don’t see or hear anything wrong, it doesn’t mean there is nothing wrong,” says Don, whose company is a Liftmaster Certified Safety Check Dealer.

To ensure the safety of their doors, CPOD recommends homeowners follow a three-step checklist:

  • Check the sides of the garage door for properly installed Photo Eyes (black sensors), mounted no higher than six inches off the floor.
  • Block the Photo Eye with an object more than six inches tall and press the garage door opener’s close button. The door should not close.
  • Lay a 1.5-inch-high object on the ground in the door’s path and press the close button. The door should reverse off this object.

If your garage door does not pass the three-step safety checklist, contact CPOD at (512) 335-7441 to arrange a service call to ensure the safety of your overhead garage door.

CPOD installs the very latest in garage door openers, outside keypads and remotes, as well as steel doors, carriage-house doors, wood doors and the latest innovation – wood-free doors.

Cedar Park Overhead Doors is A-rated by the Better Business Bureau (BBB), an Angie’s List Super Service Award provider for the past seven years and a proud member of the International Door Association.
