AUSTIN, TEXAS – Cedar Park Overhead Doors (CPOD) plans to launch a new creative campaign on local news affiliates and cable providers in April, which will focus on the their long-time local Austin roots, new promotions on specific products for the 2015 year, and general messaging to promote the CPOD brand overall.
With Austin growing at such an incredible rate, this market is quickly gaining the attention of national companies who are eager to claim their stake in the game. The problem – many of the bigger national players do not have the same goal in mind when it comes to customer service, pricing, and warranties as many local Austin businesses do. While CPOD always welcomes friendly competition, they do not want to compete with businesses who are not willing to offer the same standard of customer service, quality craftsmanship and competitive pricing offered by other local garage door companies. Especially problematic is the use of deceptive advertising techniques through internet advertising.
“Desperate to get their piece of the ‘Austin pie’, these national players have gone as far as to pose as CPOD in an attempt to gain more local business”, says Don Grenier, owner of CPOD. “They buy the search phrase “Cedar Park Overhead Doors” in their online digital campaigns, they use local Austin phone numbers when their call center is often in another state, and their call center representatives mislead customers into believing they are doing business with the Real CPOD. These practices, in turn, create unhappy customers who think they are doing business with a local garage door company, when in fact they are being deceived and charged higher prices on products and services with a very limited warranty program.”
To combat and address this growing epidemic, CPOD plans to launch the new creative campaign to remind the local consumer to pay attention to whom they are actually doing business with and to remind the local consumers of their ongoing outstanding reputation in the Austin market.
