CPOD Installs Rollac Shutters to Help Protect Leander in an Emergency

CEDAR PARK, TEXAS – Cedar Park Overhead Doors (CPOD) has helped to make Leander residents safer during weather and civil emergencies by installing a new security measure at the city of Leander’s Emergency Command and Control Center.

CPOD has installed commercial rolling shutters at the command center, which is located inside the Leander Fire Department headquarters on E. Sunny Drive. Inside is where emergency personnel – including Fire, Police, public works, health officials and city administrators – meet to plan and direct disaster response procedures.

CPOD has installed Rollac Shutters, a sturdy, attractive and energy-saving system that protects homes, businesses and civil facilities from hurricanes, break-ins and the extreme heat and cold that can occur in Texas.

Leander Fire Chief Bill Gardner and Battalion Chief Robert Curr stand in front of Rollac Shutters protecting the city’s Emergency Command and Control Center.
“The Rollac Shutters installed by Cedar Park Overhead Doors provide us the protection we need to ensure against damage to our equipment and capabilities during such things as fires, tornados, healthcare emergencies or other civil disturbances,” says Leander Fire Chief Bill Gardner. “The shutters ensure that our equipment and personnel are intact to carry out our plans to protect the public.”

“After 2010’s tropical storm Hermine,” said Leander Fire Dept. Battalion Chief Robert Curr, “we knew we had to add this additional component to our facility. In addition,” he says, “the Rollac Shutters keep the room and vital equipment and computers cooler during the hot summer months.”

Cedar Park Overhead Doors, which is A-rated by the Better Business Bureau, is a preferred installer of Rollac Shutters in the greater Austin area.

“For homes, businesses or government facilities,” says CPOD owner Don Grenier, “Rollac Shutters are an effective and attractive solution, offering a variety of products that range from lighter-weight residential shutters to heavy-duty industrial products that can withstand substantial impact.”

Each shutter system is custom-cut to fit door and window openings, is available in a variety of styles and colors and complies with new and strict building codes.

Don suggests homeowners and businesses do not wait until the last minute to protect their home and property. “Knowing you’re in a sensitive area that’s prone to hurricanes, theft or extreme heat means you should have them already,” says Don.
