Chain Drive Operators
Value Operator
The LiftMaster 8160w is our recommended value operator. The use of a DC motor instead of the old A/C, makes the motor much quieter than before.
It’s affordable, strong, and reliable and comes with plenty of great features one wouldn’t expect from an affordable option.
Pros & Cons
Several features that are a bang for your buck including: myQ WiFi functionality, Amazon Key/Smart Hub functionality, quieter DC motor, and strong.
Affordable
The 8160w is an affordable but quality operator. It’s the contractor choice that gets the job done reliably without breaking the bank.
Slightly louder than its belt-drive counter part, as the chain can rattle more than a Kevlar belt.
Less Flexible
This opener cannot support exceedingly heavy doors like wood overlay, solid wood, glass, etc.
